Practically everyone can eat them too since they are gluten, casein, dairy, corn syrup, GMO free and the are vegetarian and vegan too! They are made at a nut-free facility!! You can buy them at wholefoods. They are manufactured by Surf Sweets, and you can visit them online at surfsweets.com

Pink Quartz Minerals - Quick Review

After reading Grey's review on them I decided to give them a try. I made my purchase of a medium sized jar of foundation that comes with four samples of foundation before you actually get the medium foundation (as to figure out what color you are). I purchased this on October 17th, and paid right away. I received a notice that my samples had shipping on October 23rd, and received my samples October 28th. It cost $14 with $5 shipping. The shipping seemed a little high seeing as it's going to be a 20 gram jar with only 3.5grams of actual product. Maybe they should just put them in a 10gram jar.. .. just a thought.. .. Anyways the shipping did seem like it took forever (11 days from when the samples were purchased). On the good side they have good customer service. The product itself seems of good quality. I'll have a more extensive review on it later on.

Would I buy from them again. . . possibly. I have to wait and see how I like the actual product. I do have some meow cosmetics foundation samples I need to try as well to see which one I like better. Honestly I'll probably end up just sticking with Meow Cosmetics since their "munchkin" jars come in a 25 gram jar with between 6.8 grams of product. . Which is about double for less.

MAC: A TARTAN TALE....

MAC'S 2010 Holiday Launch, A Tartan Tale, has thoroughly disappointed me as did their 2009 Holiday Launch. I think the planning of these kits was done kind of shoty. I personally love holiday launches for the kits because you get to try different colors. Their holiday launch from 2008, Red She Said, was alright. I bought a couple pallettes, and pomposity lipstick, but 2007, Antiquitease, was their last great one. I bought pallettes, brush sets, a pigment, and lipgloss set. I can't express my disappointment enough for the last couple of years with MAC. I guess I just expect more diversity, and colors leaning towards f/w trends of the year.Maybe its just me... but I feel like MAC really only comes out with one big/fantastic launch a year (hello kitty, venomous villains) these past couple of years. I feel like they are loosing their momentum.

**Edit: I went into MAC today just to take a look, and just as I feared nothing stood out for me. The palette I was interested in was a dud, and honestly the only thing I may end up getting is the Cut-a-Caper, or finding Baron's Rose on ebay separate of the kit because I no longer use Dazzleglasses anymore. Glittery lips just isn't my thing anymore.

I heart Scentbythesea

Today I used Tropic of Chocolate by Scentbythesea, and I love it! It smells really tropical in a fruity way with a hint of chocolate. They definitely have some fantastic fragrances. One of my other favorites is Middle Earth which kind of smells like Christmas to me!

MAC Vegas Volt Dupe?

I recently bought Revlon's Super Lustrous Lipstick in Coral-berry which is a Creme color. I swatcher it next to Vegas Volt and found them to be very similar. I think the only real difference to be that Vegas Volt has a glossier finish. Take a look for yourselves!

Aerie Superfruit Vitamin Gloss: Pout

I received this as a gift and decided to do a review/swatch of it. This lipgloss comes in a tube similar to MAC's lipglass tube. The amount of product is .067 fl.oz/2ml and is costs $7.50. Pout is a lighter medium pink that applies semi sheer (more of a my lips but better) with blue, violet, pink, and gold glitter (it's hard to tell of the glitter has a duocrome effect, or if there is actually 4 different colors of glitter in it). It smells fruity as it should since it supposedly contains yumberry and acai berry. The smell reminds me of Tarte's superfruit glosses. The consistency of the lipgloss is sticky and tacky. I'm not a fan of sticky lipgloss since it usually gets stuck in my hair. It tastes sort of plastic like, and honestly I could do with out the taste. It sort of ruins the product for me since it tastes horrible. It's not something I would have bought on my own, and to be honest I don't think I'll go into Aerie anytime soon to buy another. At $7.50 I'd rather just make my own, or purchase a lipgloss through a indie company.

Scentbythesea - Etsy Review

Scentbythesea is an awesome place to buy some amazing fragrances! If you hate alcohol based perfume and prefer oil based ones definitely give Scentbythesea a try!

I've had two interactions with this etsy shop, and I must say the were both very pleasant!! If when looking at this shop you don't know where to begin or what to get send the seller a convo and ask for some samples, or you can purchase one of her premade sample sets! I believe it's a minimum of 10 vials (samples) for a custom listing I'm not 100% sure. My custom listing was $12 for 10 vials with $2 shipping. I purchased them on the 18th, and I received them today.

I currently have samples of the following scents:

- Lolita
- Egyptian Honey
- Frangipani
- Fiori di Roma
- Tehura
- Moon Bride
- Cioccolata
- Cote d' Azur
- Green Tea
- Violet
- Moth
- Dream
- Middle Earth
- China Rain
- Winter Beach
- Cinema Rouge
- Antebellum
- Morpheus
- Salome
- Tropic of Chocolate

I really love Middle Earth because it's not overly earthy. China Rain is another really great one. Honestly I cannot pick a favorite because they all are wonderful, and unique enough to all love fairly!!

Would I buy from Scentbythesea again? Of Course!! (and you should give it a try too!!!) Awesome customer service, quick and prompt shipping, high quality oil based fragrances, and shipped carefully (in bubble mailers).

I bought stuff from TKB Trading. . . .

I've looked at TKB Trading before just for shadwos for myself like Taurus Orion. I have never actually purchased anything from them, but I did the other day. I guess I just came to the realization that no one will every really make shadows I really really want. Maybe it's because the combination are just too weird. The other day I bought their EZ Eye Shadow Kit, a samples of their satin pearl fine white mica, a sample of their Sparks! Collection, a samples of all their Hilites, some extra baggies, and a Press Pack. So it looks like I will get to make my own shadows the way I've always wanted to. I may or may not, depending on how much attempts go, share them with others. My best friend Laura will definitely get some if they end up turning out good!!

This may or may not turn into the start of my own severely small company weather it's for custom colors, or a regular mineral/loose shadow site. . we'll see . . I promise to keep everyone updated on my bizarre journey that will start when I receive my little box full of supplies. From what I understand the kit will allow me to make a bunch of different shadows since it comes with samples of all their POPS collection, and their regular matte base. By me buying all these extras I'm sure I'll have plenty of micas to make whatever I want. So I'm a little excited, and a lotta nervous because if I find I like this enough, it may turn into a side job for me.

So we'll see . . .

Shiro Cosmetics Swatches

Here are the swatches of the 10 samples, and the two extra samples I was given. I'll do a more in depth and complete review (which will also include my initial "Quick Review" and the swatches again) once I have worn some of them, and see how they wear. Both pictures are without flash in natural light. The shadows were applied over Too Faced Shadow Insurance, and applied wet with a MAC 239 brush and MAC's Fix +. All the color descriptions are from Shiro Cosmetics etsy page.

Spinarak - Pale, muted lime green.
Dunsparce - Pale shimmery yellow with blue sparkles.

Bottom Row (Left to Right)
Pikachu - Vivid, opaque, shimmering yellow with eye-safe red glitter sparks. Chuu!
Weepinbell - Shimmery chartreuse with subtle green sparkles.
Acid - Vivid, opaque, shimmery yellow-green with golden undertones and just a touch of darker green eye-safe glitter.

Top Row (Left to Right)
Vileplume - Gray-tinged magenta with green shimmer.
Spiritomb - Medium purple with bold green shimmer and eye-safe lime glitter.
Team Rocket - Opaque, shimmery red-toned purple - sort of a cross between the Team Rocket uniforms and Jessie's hair.

Bottom Row (Left to Right)
Sudowoodo - Perplexing earthy green-brown with subtle copper shimmer.
Seaking - Shimmery, bold, metallic copper-red.
Vulpix - Gorgeous shimmering coppery red-brown, soft but intense - kind of like hugging a Vulpix, I imagine.

*** Only thing I have noticed so far is that Sudowoodo does stain, and leave a green tint. I used Acid and Sudowood yesterday and it stained my lids, but I didn't know which one it was, silly me. ***

Quick Review: Shiro Cosmetics

When I got home from work last night I had a nice little surprise for me. It was the samples I had ordered from Shiro Cosmetics!! I quickly opened the bubble mailer to find this cute thing!!

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

I placed my order on October 14th somewhere around 3am or something, and received a convo on etsy when I got up the next morning stating it would be shipped out that day, the 15th, and she would provide me with the tracking number as soon as she had once (which she did!).

I received my small order of 10 samples Saturday the 16th! What a quick turnaround! I have not yet swatched the shadows I got (plus two more free samples!!), but I will some time today/tonight when I get a chance . .. probably closer to tomorrow actually seeing as though I work 2pm-10pm tonight. Anwyays would I buy from Shiro again?? Yes, based on the great communication, and quick turnaround from the actually purchase to received the samples!!

I'll do a more in depth review of the actual shadows once I actually get to play with them, and wear them for a day!!!

I purchased a sample set off of their etsy site at SHIRO COSMETICS

Liver cancer awareness redo

I wasn't completely satisfied with my original look for cancer awareness so I decided to tweek it a bit by simply putting private lunacy over the entire lid and blended up into the crease while coney island was just the liner on the top lid.

Ideas

I'll take ideas from readers as to what sort of looks you'd like to see/ see more of. I was thinking about doing an etsy spotlight once a month either at the beginning or end of each month, and possibly doing a series of eotd with inspiration from characters from transformers.

What are your suggestions?

I said I would try a look for liver cancer awareness. This look happens to have a lime green color, aromaleigh coney island, in it along with private lunacy. Lime green is associated with lymphoma for those of you who are unaware.

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure HOLIDAY EDITION!

My boyfriend and I frequently go to Meijer after midnight just to look around or shop for groceries. Tonight it was because he wanted another male guppy (fish) since his had died this week. I happened to come upon the f/w edition of the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manure collection. To be honest most of it was gone, but I managed to snag Golden Ticket, Trouble Maker, and Sequin Scandal. I was on the fence with Downtown Rubies because I love sparkle red polish! This one though had a clearish base, and wasn't something I could see myself layering on anything I already own since the s/s collection Hidden Treasure is my HG of sparkly glitter polishes! There was a greyish one that didn't really seem my style, and a silver glitter one with a clear base. I didn't get that one for the same reason I didn't purchase Downtown Rubies. As for the rest of the colors..... they were gone, but I don't think I would have ended up buying any of them based on the displays swatches of them. I'll try to have swatches of them next time I do my nails!

Which ones are you leaning towards or have bought already?

Innocence Beware!

Playing with Innocence Beware! has brought me to the conclusion it resembles Rimmel's Airy Fairy and Urban Decay's Naked. All three look completely different in the tubes, but look similar on my lips. I blame this on having fairly pigment lips. All three do look nice too... ugh... With that being said I'll never buy a $22 lipstick (yea that's you Naked...) again just because for me that's too much for lipstick that doesn't last longer than a couple of hours or so for me. I do like the Rimmel color and for the price it has decent color payoff and does not dry out my lips. I do love the MAC ones as well. If your fair skinned like me and don't mind paying 15.50 at MAC grab innocence beware!

EOTD using Fyrinnae

I normally just use Too Faced Shadow Insurance as a primer, but since I was using Fyrinnae today I used their epoxy as well. The shadows I used were herbivore on the lid, and parental advisory in the crease and outer corner. MAC's vapor was used as my brow highlight and on the inner corner. Hard Candy's 1000 lashes primer was used with Covergirl's LashBlast on my upper lashes. MAC's PowerPoint liner in Prussian was used on my lower lash line as well at to tightline the upper lash line.
