Looking into making lipglosses. What's a universally pleasing flavor oil to add?

I was wondering what you, the readers, that would be a universally acceptable flavor oil to add to a lipgloss. I was looking into making lipglosses, and a flavor oil was suggested to add to the mix. I could just leave this out if it suggested. Right now I am looking to make a vegan lipgloss so that anyone could purchase it. Flavors I was looking at were brown sugar, peppermint/wintermint, lychee, vanilla, or a fruit flavored one. I didn't want o stray into a coffee or rum flavored one . . well not just yet, lol.

I'd love to hear from you all!! I'm already in the process of buying the main ingredients such as a vegan wax, coconut oil, avocado or almond oil, vitamin E oil, etc. . .

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Color Ideas for Monster Rancher Collection

While researching Monster Rancher a little better I came across some monsters from the Monster Rancher 2 game.

I was looking into Mocchi, Pixie, Golem, Gali, Zuum, Tiger, Hopper, Suezo, Undine, Hare, and possibly Arrowhead, Naga, and Niton.

Monster Rancher Wins!

The lovely Courntey of Phyrra.net suggested Monster Rancher as my next collection. I think it is a great idea! So I shall start working on it this weekend. As promised Courntey will be getting a free sample set once I'm finished. I think eventualy Mario may be done, but not for a while. I have so many ideas and projects I'd like to do.

I want to add more colors to my Star Trek Collection, and tweek my Dragon Warriors Collection.

Don't forget my holiday colors will be retiring at the end of this month! Get them while you still can!!

Please send any questions, comments, and/or responses to my email at molly.memorymakers@yahoo.com or post it under the comments section.

I get no kick... literally...

So I played around with MAC's I Get No Kick, and I don't like how creased my eyeshadow looks with it used as a base. I also don't like it as a liner. I tried using it on my lower water line. It didn't really show up that well, and I'd much rather use the chromagraphic liner on my lower water line. That's not to say it wouldn't look better on someone with a darker complexion. For reference I'm nw20-nw25. It looks as if this one will be going back. I'll probably exchange it for a backup of feline and the chromagraphic liner.

You can't really tell from the picture, but the gold color is like severely creased.

20 subscribers giveaway!

Alrighty lets get this started! To thanks my followers I'll be hosting my very first giveaway. The prizes are one full sized Buxom mascara in blackest black, one buxom insider liner in topaz, one full size of my mineral shadow in Little Surprise, and one in the "mystery" color which is the one I haven't named yet, lol.

This giveaway is open to EVERYONE, and ends on Friday December, 31st. I'll be using random to make it fair to everyone.

All you have to do is comment on this post with your ultimate favorite makeup item! I love looking for new favorites!

Edit: the mystery shade has been appropriately named Le Mystére.

Edit: Since I was asking everyone what their favorite items were I decided to put a full sized Buxom Mascara in blackest black instead of the bad gal.

Please send any questions, comments, and/or responses to my email at molly.memorymakers@yahoo.com or post it under the comments section.

So I gave into MAC.....

I went past MAC today, and noticed the cham-pale collection was out. So I sort of bought the nc15/nw20 chromagraphic liner, feline kohl, and I get no kick eyeliner. I may have to get backups of feline and the chromagraphic because I've used them already, and LOVE them! I'll let you know how I feel about the other one once I use it. The MUA I spoke with said to try it as a base instead of a paint pot. I've done that with their Minted kohl under the Burmese Beauty quad color that reminds me of club.

Edit: I was at my local mall, and when I went through Macy's I picked up =backup of feline and nc15/nw20.

Merry Christmas to me + Giveaway Update!

So my gift from my readers was finally getting my 20th follower. I know it doesn't seem like a big deal to most people, but for me who probably only had 3 last year it means a lot to me.

I'll host my giveaway tomorrow, and you all know that the winner will at least be getting a full size of my new not released (yet) mineral shadow color. I have yet to name it so I'll be taking suggestions :)

Have a wonderful and safe holiday!!

small peek.. ..

Here's a swatch of one of the prizes for the giveaway. This is a brand new, not released (yet) shade from my mineral shadow line.

Hope you enjoy! It's a awesome color really! It's hard to tell from the picture, but there is purple, blue, and coordinating lavender glitter. This shade isn't as blue toned as the swatch shows. It's a more true to purple. The top swatch is appled dry, and the bottom with a damp brush over TFSI.

As soon as I hit 20 followers, which hopefully is with in the next week, I shall have a giveaway celebrating it! I think last year at this time I only had 2 or 3, one being a dear friend of mine.

I won't tell you what the prize is, but I promise it will be good! It will definitely include a full size or two of my own shadows.

I'll use random to pick a winner so as to be fair to everyone that enters!

What I want for Christmas....

I stumbled up this book while perusing through my favorite bloggers. I found a post about it on Beauty Crazed in Canada.

I love DIY projects so this is perfect for me! It's only $21 with around 250 different recipes. I have sensitive skin so I have to be careful what I put on my skin which is another reason why this would be perfect for me!

New Collection . . Help?!? + Contest!!

So far I have a Dragon Warrior Monsters collection, a holiday collection, Cozy Holidays, and a Star Trek collection, which I will have some pics up soon. All three are available for sale in my etsy shop. I was wondering what you, the readers, would like to see next.

It's so hard for me to choose seeing as though I love just about anything geeky. I love sailor moon, but Persephone minerals has that, and Shiro has Pokemon and Zelda (both of which i was obsessed with at one time or another). I love video games a ton, and amine as well so you can see why it is hard to pick just one topic.

I'd love any ideas, comments, or suggestions from all of you! So you can post them here or email me directly. If I choose your suggestion you will win a free sample set of how ever many colors I come out with for that collection!!

I'll have another contest or two with in the next month!! This contest ends December 24th, and I'll pick the winner December 27th. They may be a chance of more than one winner in case I like different suggestions. The "prize" will whatever topic is suggested by that person.

Whimsy Beading take two!

This is long over due. I've had my items for quite some time, but I keep forgetting to make a post with them.

It must be said that I LOVE Whimsy Beading, and I am ssoo thankful to Courtney of Phyrra.net for introducing me to this etsy shop.

The jewelry is amazing, and beautiful. I know that if I ever tried bead weaving . . well. . . lets just say I don't have the patience for it.

I bought two sets, and one pair of custom earrings from her last time. I also since then have ordered three more sets. I bought Le Gothique set (the earrings were given to my aunt as a Hanukkah gift and the necklace was saved for mmeee), Phyrra's Lanterns set for myself, and a pair of earrings made to match the pendant she custom made for me. My most recent purchase consists of Shades or red set, another Le Gothique set, and Phaedra's Garland set.

Next time she has a sale I'm sssooo buying the Shrinkle Special along with a couple other items!! you should definitely check out the awesome stuff for sale!

Two New Shops! (from me) and other news

I recently added two new shops on etsy; one for jewelry and one for my photography.

etsy.com/shop/mollysmagictouch for my jewelry
etsy.com/shop/throughtheseasons for my photography

and don't forget. . . etsy.com/shop/guitarplayingpoet for my mineral shadows. My company is called Psyche Minerals, and well . even though it has a sort of weird name there are reasons behind it which are stated somewhere on my etsy page.

I'm in the process of making blushes right now with some of the micas I have left over from my shadows. Hopefully you'll be seeing them up soon. I don't think I ever will get the hang of foundation, but if I ever decided to (which I'm almost 100% sure I won't) it would definitely have to be vegan.

I may decided to branch out to lippies, but that won't be for a while.

Oh by the way if you happen to have an etsy shop I'm trade friendly!

Ultraviolet by Psyche Cosmetics - Comment from a customer

I was browsing through my etsy, when I received a convo from someone how had purchased a sample of my Ultraviolet shadow. This is what she had to say! "Hello, I recently purchased this and LOVED it.. I was wondering if it would be possible for me to purchase 2 full size jars of this. It really is an AMAZING color. I have never seen anything like it. Please let me know if your able to do so, I am very interested."

I was so happy to hear this from a customer. It really made my day! I've sold several orders, and no one has really gotten back to me on the colors they purchased.

I just thought I would share this with you all!

Have a beauty filled weekend!!!

Thanksgiving Fun

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving with their family and friends this year. It was a small one for me. My family (mom, dad, & sister)had a honey baked ham, homemade apple cranberry stuffing (which is fantastic!), homemade cranberry sauce, homemade green bean casserole which my mom makes (another fantastic side dish), homemade sweet potato casserole, and a homemade key lime and pumpkin chiffon pie. I made the stuffing, pumpkin pie, and the cranberry sauce. I really enjoy being home with my family for the holidays. I had a lot of problems growing up, and not wanting to be around them a lot. That changed as soon as I started cooking for the holidays (and grew up a little). We just stayed home and watched Miracle on 34th Street, and some Criminal Minds episodes.

Since I had to work on Black Friday (12pm-12am) I didn't do any extreme shopping. . Not that I would have if I could have though. Lately I've preferred shopping online since I don't have to wait in line. For me It's just hassle free (as long as I can use Paypal)

what did you all do for thanksgiving and black friday?

Dragon Warrior Monsters! My First Mineral Eyeshadow Collection!

So I've decided to flaunt my geeky nerdiness. I'm a big gaming fan, and well I never knew quite how to incorporate it into other things I love to do. Thanks to Courtney of Phyrra, Caitlin of Shiro Cosmetics, and Anastasia of Lipsticks and Lightsabers I've settled on my very first geeky collection, Dragon Warrior Monsters. DWM has a sort of pokemon feel which is probably why I fell in love with it (yep I was one of those girls glued to my gameboy playing pokemon on the bus to and from school).

You can see my collection here on etsy.com

So far there are 10 colors in this collection, and they are all mineral shadows. There probably will be another 5 I'll make, and of course one HAS to be SLIME!! One of my favorites because there were so many different variations.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
* Almiraj - a beautiful peachy pink mineral shadow with gold sparkles.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
* Babble - a vibrant sparkly yellow green mineral shadow with shimmer.

Hope you all enjoy!!

Holiday Look #4

Today I thought I'd go with a "softer" look. I primary used the shadows from my Etsy store in this look. They are Winter Wonderland, Winter's Storm, First Snow, and Phoenician Royalty. Winter Wonderland all over the lid with Winter's Storm on the outer half blended up into the crease with Phoenician Royalty in the crease. First Snow was used on the inner corner. MAC's Vapor was used as a brown highlight. Bare Escentuals' Indigo liner was used on my lower lashline, and MAC's Signature Blue on my upper lash line. CoverGirl's LashBlast in black on my upper lashes.

Holiday Look #3

I used Bare Escentuals Buxom Liner in Blue Jade all over my lid and blended it in with a stiff flat brush. I then applied Burmese Beauty all over my lid and up into the crease. Skintone 2 was used on the inner corner, and Prized was used at my brown highlight. The Buxom liner was used on my lower lash line with CoverGirl's LashBlast in black on my top lashes.

Persephone Mineral's Sailor Senshi Collection

I really loved the colors from this collection. The only colors I'm disappointed are the Crystal Power colors since it is too gritty for me to try using as eye shadows. I found Mars Flame Sniper, and Jupiter Oak Evolution to be the same in consistency as the Crystal Power shadows. I wish they was more pigmentation to go with the glitter. If I can feel the glitter I won't use them, not because I have sensitive eyes or wear contacts, but because shadows where I can feel the glitter always have one heck of a time applying, they never go on even. In my opinion glitter should never be felt that is a PERSONAL PREFERENCE. The glitter I use in my shadows is bought from TKB, and they have a small enough hex that they cannot be felt between the fingers. I'd have to say I really like all of them. If I had to put them in order of my favorite to least favorite it would be Jupiter, Venus, Mars, and Mercury. The blues, Mercury, could've used a little more Ommphh in my opinion. I look forward to purchasing the Sailor Moon set, but I think that's all I'll be buying for now. I love glitter and shimmer, but for me I need to balance it with a matte shadow in my looks. I know Persephone Mineral's motto is you're never too old for glitter, but too Mich can be overkill. I'd like to see more duo chrome shades without a ton of glitter in the mix. I myself find it hard to make matte shadow for my company, but I know it is a must to reach different types of consumers.

Ami is a deeper, black based blue with blue microfine glitters. Makes a lovely liner as well! It is inspired by Ami's haircolor ;)
*Ami is vegan and lip safe!
*Ingredients: mica, iron oxide, titanium dioxide, tin oxide, polyethylene terephthalate(cosmetic glitter)

**MERCURY CRYSTAL POWER!**
Mercury Crystal Power is an amazing DUOCHROME shift from gold to bright blue. It is chock full of sparkles of gold and pink. Mercury Crystal Power is inspired by the pink & gold of the her wand, and the transformation sequence that turns Ami into Sailor Mercury!
*Mercury Crystal Power is not vegan, some of the sparkles contain carmine. It is however, considered lip safe!
*Ingredients: mica, titanium dioxide, tin oxide, iron oxide, calcium aluminum borosilicate, carmine, calcium sodium borosilicate, silica

**SAILOR MERCURY** Sailor Mercury is a nice medium-dark blue with sparkles of aqua and gold. Sailor Mercury is inspired by the costume of Sailor Mercury. The main color being a medium blue with accents of aqua(her bows) and gold(tiara).
*Sailor Mercury is vegan and lip safe!
*Ingredients: mica, titanium dioxide, iron oxide, tin oxide, magnesium stearate, calcium aluminum borosilicate, silica

**MERCURY AQUA RHAPSODY!**
Blue with various shades of blue sparkles, white sparkles, & aqua sparkles!! Sparkles, sparkles and more sparkles! ;) I recommend this as either wetlined or used with a sticky primer for the most dramatic effect! It can be used dry but it has those slightly bigger pieces of glitter that can have a bit more fall out than the microfines. This super sparkly shade is inspired by her attack in the form of Super Sailor mercury!
*Mercury Aqua Rhapsody is vegan but not considered lip safe.
*Ingredients: mica, titanium dioxide, tin oxide, iron oxide, ferric ferrocyanide, bismuth oxychloride

Sephora FAIL

I went to my mailbox today to fine their VIB 20% off coupon a day after it had expired.. .. I was excited thinking maybe they had extended it, but alas they had not. . .So I was severely disappointed. This isnt' the first time Sephora let me down. I blogged about how I payed for expedited shipping, and it definitely did not arrive quickly even though I had paid for it. . . that's one of the reasons I don't buy online for from anymore even though they have some good deals.

Holiday Look #2

Here is another holiday look using MAC's Mythology all over the lid, MAC's Coppering placed in the middle, MAC'S Antiqued on the outer corner and blended up onto the crease, MAC's Skintone 2 on the inner corner, MAC's Vapor as my brow highlight, and MAC's Embark placed just on the crease. MAC's Minted was used on my lower lash line with MAC's Skintone 2 placed under it. Covergirl's LashBlast in black was put on my upper lashes.

Holiday Look #1

One of my very first MAC shadows, and probably one of my favorites is Cranberry. So I used that all over my lid with MAC's Embark on the outer corner and blended into the crease, MAC's skintone 2 on the inner corner, and MAC's prized as my brow highlight. Urban Decay's Bourbon 24/7 liner was used on my lower lash line, and Covergirl's LashBlast mascara in black on my upper lashes.

If I wasn't at work I would've added false lashes probably my MAC Hello Kitty ones, and done my liner a little heavier.

Benefit's Prrrol Pictures

I thought if I put this pictures in the post about Prrrol they wouldn't get noticed. So here is a close up of the mascara top coat, and the lipgloss.

MAC Pink Nouveau Swatch

I'm not sold on this color yet. I do see some potential for it though. For instance possibly pairing it up with MAC's Dazzleglass in Steppin' Out. I bought this on makeupgeek.com off of another addict based off of Marlena's recommendation on the Top 15: Best MAC Lipsticks

EOTD: 11/13

I received a few compliments on this look, and thought I would share it with you. I used Nars Mangrove on the whole lid, MAC's Lucky Green on the middle, MAC's Glamour Check on the outer third and blended up into the crease, and MAC's Vapor as the brown highlight. Urban Decay's Bourbon 24/7 liner was used on my lower lash line, and Hard Candy's 1000 Lashes primer, CoverGirl's LashBlast in black, and Maybelline's Great Lash mascara in Royal Blue was used on my upper lashes.

I wish I could get better pictures out of my phone, but this was the best I could get!!
